Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma was admitted to Shillong Civil Hospital earlier today after experiencing a significant rise in body temperature and associated symptoms. Dr. Lumlang Buhphang, Joint Director cum Surgeon Superintendent, confirmed that the Chief Minister is undergoing a series of medical tests to diagnose the cause of his symptoms. Although some initial tests have been completed, further examinations are ongoing to ensure a comprehensive understanding of his condition.
Dr. Buhphang mentioned that the Chief Minister had been experiencing fever and body aches, prompting the medical team to recommend his immediate admission to the hospital for thorough evaluation and treatment. The decision was made to ensure that the Chief Minister receives the best possible care given the severity of his symptoms.
Due to his health condition, Chief Minister Sangma was unable to attend today’s Assembly session, an important part of the ongoing Autumn Session. In his absence, he delegated his responsibilities to Deputy Chief Minister Bah Prestone Tynsong to ensure that the state’s affairs continue without interruption. The Chief Minister’s health is being closely monitored, and further updates are expected as more test results become available.
