Yesterday, the evening of 1st April, two persons ended up seriously injured from a squabble that arose in Mitali village in the interstate border area between Meghalaya and Assam.
As per the statement of the Headman of Jatalong, P.Mynsong, this squabble arose at about 7:30 PM while the two Khasi men were shopping in Mitali and as they were bargaining on the price of some commodity, a few persons, allegedly, from the Nepali community began assaulting them, at which point, a crowd suddenly emerged from both sides and nearby villages. However, the squabble was contained with the arrival of the police personnel from Mawlasnai Outpost and Assam Police.
As per the statement of Mynsong, the two injured persons are from Khyndewsoh village.
