Ricaldinus Dohling, President of the All Khasi Meghalaya Tourist Taxi Association (AKMTTA), has criticized the MDA government for causing confusion regarding taxi fares, rather than the taxi drivers. He explained that drivers are forced to charge higher fares, as there has been no proper regulation from the government.
Dohling also expressed frustration that nearly a year has passed without the government addressing the association’s demand for a policy to restrict out-of-state tourist taxis from operating in Meghalaya’s tourist destinations.
