SHILLONG, February 28: The Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad Kongkal Sangma said that he has received the information that a few students from the State have been evacuated from the borders of Ukraine and are in now in a safer place. He informed that he had spoken with the Central Government and the Foreign Secretary of the Indian Government on the presence of a few residents from Meghalaya still stuck in Ukraine in the midst of a war against Russia.
In this press briefing he informed that he submitted the names of more than 30 students from the State who are still stuck in Ukraine, and also informed that today a few of the students from the state have been evacuated from the borders of Ukraine and are now safe in the neighbouring countries.
The Chief Minister also stated that he is continually pursuing the matter with the Minister of External Affairs as well as the Foreign Secretary of India, and he will also speak with them to assure the safe return of the students to the state.
