Shillong, Nov 23 — Congress MP from Tura, Saleng A. Sangma, has strongly defended Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Vincent H. Pala, rejecting claims that the party’s electoral setbacks were due to Pala’s leadership.
Saleng said no single individual can be blamed for the party’s performance and that victories and defeats must be collectively owned.
He further announced that the Congress will contest the upcoming GHADC elections independently, without forming alliances with any party.
Saleng also asserted that District Councils cannot function alongside Panchayati Raj institutions, as both operate under separate constitutional frameworks and traditional governance systems.
