Shillong: Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong, who oversees the Home Department, has assured that the situation in Jaïaw has stabilised after clashes broke out on Saturday night. He informed that the Dorbar Shnong has stepped forward to cooperate with the police in maintaining peace and order.
Speaking to the press on Monday, Tynsong admitted that he has yet to receive complete details of the incident but confirmed that a police vehicle was pelted with stones. Reports suggest the clash originated at Khyndailad following an argument, later escalating in Jaïaw, where two people were injured.
Authorities are monitoring the situation closely, with community leaders working alongside police to prevent further disturbances.
