SHILLONG, July 07: The Congress MDC from Mawhati, Charles Marngar said that he is unhappy about the Executive Committee in the KHADC which failed to instate a gate to check the forest products from the forest of KHADC in Block II which had promised to establish in the recently concluded Budget Session.
In presenting the question in the Council Session today, he said that the demand to have the gate is from the public and now the Executive Committee must provide an answer to the public.He said how can the KHADC not put a gate at the border when West Karbi Anglong can put a gate.
Clarifying on the matter, the CEM of the KHADC, Titosstarwell Chyne said Block II is still under the border resolution talk which has led to the intention being delayed, and to wait for some time till the border resolution is complete.
He further stated that the Council had examined in detail whether putting up a gate is feasible or not but a directive from the Government ordered all gates of the Council to be shut down.
The CEM informed that the inspection of the area by the concerned office has been completed and the report too had already been submitted to the Council.
