Shillong: Women in Shillong on Wednesday came together at Don Bosco Square to raise their voice against violence and atrocities faced by women across the country.
The gathering, though small in numbers, carried a clear message from the city: women must be able to live with dignity, peace and security.
The participants called for stronger measures to ensure the safety of women and young girls, stressing that violence against women cannot be treated as a normal or isolated issue.
From Shillong, the gathering also highlight a common demand that women’s safety is not a privilege or an act of goodwill, but a fundamental right that must be protected.
