The Expert Committee on the State Reservation Policy in Meghalaya, chaired by Justice (Retired) MC Garg, has officially begun consultations with various groups in Shillong. This initiative aims to gather input and insights on the reservation policy currently in place in the state.
Committee member, Justice (Retired) Satish Chandra, informed that while the consultation process has started, there is no fixed timeline for its completion, but the committee will expedite the process as much as possible.
Following the consultations in Shillong, which will take place from October 3 to 5, the committee will move to Garo Hills for further public consultations from October 21 to 25.
These public engagements are expected to play a crucial role in shaping any future recommendations on the state’s reservation policy.
