Jowai: Wailadmiki Shylla who is also the MLA of Jowai and Chairman of the MCCL,yesterday the 20th of April inaugurated the 33rd District Level Industrial Exhibition 2022. The Exhibition has been managed by the Office of the General Manager District Commerce and Industries Center of West Jaiñtia Hills District and was held at Ladthadlaboh,Indoor Sports Hall, Ladthadlaboh Playground,Dai-Masi Jowai as part of the 50 Years of Meghalaya Statehood celebration. In this Exhibition, upto 26 Self Help Groups, different Societies from West Jaiñtia Hills District and also other Districts participated.
The Chief Guest, Wailadmiki Shylla in his speech applauded the department for conducting such an exhibition which is a means for the farmers and entrepreneurs to show case their talents through the products they have made and crafted. He encouraged the participants to produce more products and also urged the well educated unemployed youths to start such kind of work in the form of small scale and cottage industries so as to increase the economy and at the same time also urged them to take advantage of different government schemes which promote and are beneficial for their economic growth.
The inauguration programme was conducted by the District Manager, P.Toi who also informed the attendees of the different schemes including the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and the Home Stay scheme for the unemployed youths which is a subsidy programme. The others present at the programme were S.E Kharpran, Functional Manager, C.Sutnga, Functional Manager and F.G, Syngkon, Assistant Director of Cottage and senior members of society.
