Shillong: VPP chief Ardent Basaiawmoit on Tuesday said the party is not satisfied with the recommendations submitted by the Expert Committee on the State’s Reservation Policy, stating that key concerns raised by stakeholders have not been adequately addressed.
Speaking to media persons, Basaiawmoit said that although the constitution of the Expert Committee was a positive step, the recommendations require deeper scrutiny and wider consultation due to the sensitive nature of the reservation issue and its impact on different communities in the state.
He said the Voice of the People Party wants a detailed discussion with the State Government before any decision is taken on adopting or implementing the committee’s recommendations.
According to Basaiawmoit, accepting the report without thorough deliberation could lead to dissatisfaction among sections of society.
