On the afternoon of Monday at around 3:00 PM an unfortunate stone quarry explosive accident left two persons dead and several injured.
As per news sources received, the injured are identified as Sayed Ali from Barpeta,Assam, Zipson Sangma, Hamen Marak,Raston and Sanjay Sangma from Jerman. The deceased persons were identified Bahar Ali and Suraj Ali Naka from Barpeta. As per reports the deceased worked under Commission Khraim and the injured were employees of Ujoy Lama.
As per the narrative of one of injured persons, preparations were being made to use the explosives on the next day but due to heavy rain, thunder and lightning the explosives suddenly went off when they were close to it.
