Congress MP from Tura, Saleng A Sangma, has called on Mehtab Chandee Sangma, the newly elected MLA of Gambegre and wife of Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, to honor the promises she made to the people of the Gambegre constituency.
Speaking to the media, Saleng expressed doubts about Chandee’s ability to fulfill her commitments, particularly in the area of employment, now that she is part of the ruling government.
Mehtab Chandee secured a victory in the bye-elections in Gambegre, a seat previously held by the Congress, defeating both the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Congress candidates. Despite the loss, Saleng sais that the Congress still enjoys substantial support in the constituency, even if it did not come out on top in the election.
