Shillong: Tourist taxi drivers in Meghalaya are only 30% satisfied with the state government’s assurance to set up a parking facility at Umtyngngar for tourist vehicles from outside the state.
Speaking to reporters on Monday, Ricaldinus Dohling said the government’s proposal to park outside tourist vehicles at Umtyngngar and encourage visitors to hire local taxis for sightseeing had provided some relief to local operators.
He said the association was leaving the matter to the government, expressing hope that the assurance would be translated into action.
