Opposition TMC leader and Rajabala MLA Mizanur Rahman Kazi has raised serious concerns over the condition of National Highway 127B (formerly AMPT Road), just weeks after repair work was completed.
Following an inspection conducted in the presence of local administrative officials, including the Deputy Commissioner and Prestone Tynsong, Kazi pointed to visible signs of deterioration along several stretches of the highway.
Photographs from the site reportedly show damaged road surfaces and poor durability, raising questions over the quality of the recently executed repair work.
Kazi has urged the government and concerned authorities to take immediate cognisance of the issue and initiate a thorough inquiry into the alleged lapses.
The development has once again brought focus on the quality and accountability of infrastructure projects, with growing calls for corrective measures to ensure long-term durability.
