THE TWO STATES TOOK THE BORDER ISSUE RESOLUTION SERIOUSLY BECAUSE OF AMIT SHAH: CONRAD

Shillong, March 29: The Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad Kongkal Sangma said that the Agreement signed today in the presence of the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah in Delhi shall be remembered for days to come, for after 50 years an agreement was reached to finally resolve the 6 sites of dispute in the interstate border with Assam from the 12 sites of disputes.

Sangma expressed his gratitude especially to the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah by stating that it is through the guidance of the Union Home Minister that the two states took the matter of resolving the border issue seriously. At the same time, he also extended his gratitude to the Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma and all the members of the Regional Committee who have worked hard to get to this goal along with other stakeholders.

The Chief Minister said that the two State Governments will continue to have the border resolution talk for 6 other sites of dispute in Phase 2,while expressing hope that the resolution is completed as soon as possible.
