SHILLONG, March 25: The Deputy Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Prestone Tynsong said that the Government welcomes the residents of Harijan Colony to have a settlement talk, while also stating that the Government had already clearly stated that it will not agree to have any talk on any matter if they do not want to relocate from Harijan Colony.
He said that he is aware of the wish of the residents of Harijan Colony to have a settlement talk, and the Government welcomes that, and at present the Government is awaiting an order from the Court and once that is completed, the Government welcomes a talk on the relocation of the residents staying in this site.
Tynsong who is the Chairman of the High Level Committee for the relocation of residents from Them Ïew Mawlong said that the Government clearly states that it does not want any talk if they do not want to relocate for it had already seen the condition of the site as unsuitable for habitation.
