Shillong: The United Democratic Party (UDP) candidate from Sohiong Constituency, Synsharlang Kupar Roy Lyngdoh Thabah filed his nomination papers on Tuesday.
Polling for the Sohiong constituency in Meghalaya’s upcoming elections have been postponed following the demise of the United Democratic Party candidate from the seat Late HDR Lyngdoh on February 20.
Synshar was accompanied by the UDP president Metbah Lyngdoh, General Secretary Dr Jemino Mawthoh, Cabinet Minister and MLA from South Shillong Paul Lyngdoh and hundreds of the party supporters.
The Election Commission of India has scheduled the date for the election for Sohiong constituency on May 10.
