SHILLONG, June 17: The maternal grandmother of the siblings who lost their lives as a result of being buried under a landslide in Laitlarem said that the area where the house is located is a place where a landslide had occurred once before, however they did not expect that another major landslide would take place to the point that her grandchildren would die owing to it.
It may be reminded that yesterday at about 10:30 AM, 4 siblings passed away after they were buried under the mud from a landslide which destroyed their house in Laitlarem under Mawphlang Block. In this incident, 3 from amongst the children died on the spot while the 4th one died while enroute to the hospital.
