Residents, including women and elders, from Shnongrim village under Nongkhlieh Elaka visited the district jail on Friday to meet and extend their support to leaders of the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) who are currently in custody.
During the visit, a woman representative said the residents were able to meet the detained KSU leaders, with both sides exchanging words of encouragement and support.
KSU leaders from the East Jaintia Hills district also accompanied the residents during the visit.
