Shillong: Torrential rain forced the abandonment of today’s Shillong Premier League 2025 fixture between Malki and Nongrim Hills just 10 minutes after kick-off at the SSA Stadium, First Ground, Polo. The downpour left the pitch unplayable, compelling referees to call off what had promised to be a crucial battle between the league’s bottom clubs seeking to escape relegation.
The Shillong Sports Association, organisers of the SPL, confirmed the game will be rescheduled, with the new date to be announced later. Meanwhile, attention now turns to tomorrow’s highly anticipated clash between reigning champions Shillong Lajong and Langsning at 4:30pm. Lajong sit third in the standings with 8 points, closely trailed by Langsning on 7, and victory for either side would see them rise to the top of the table.
