Shillong: Meghalaya Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui expressed satisfaction over the central government’s initiative to construct the Shillong–Pynursla–Dawki road, which he said would significantly improve the economy of the people while also facilitating smoother trade between India and Bangladesh.
Speaking on today, Rymbui noted that in recent months, incidents of landslides and road cave-ins had created challenges. However, he assured that government authorities, including the SDO and DC, are closely monitoring the situation by regulating vehicle movement to avoid untoward incidents, especially during the rainy season while road-cutting works are still in progress.
He further added that once the monsoon season is over, the company entrusted with the construction would accelerate the work to complete the project at the earliest, ensuring safe and efficient connectivity for commuters and traders alike.
