SHILLONG, June 04: The MLA of South Shillong, Sanbor Shullai today the 4th of June inaugurated the Children’s Park in Mynsain under the Dorbar Shnong of Upper Lumparing which has been constructed at a cost of Rs.26.44 lakhs on the land of the Forest Department.
Speaking at the brief gathering, the MLA said that this park is especially for the children of the locality under 12 years of age, and also said that the park is a result of the many pleas over the absence of a playground for the children in the locality pushing them to play on the roads which is a safety concern for them.
He informed that the Children’s Park has been possible through the AMRUT scheme of the Central Government, and also informed that through this scheme two more Children’s Park will be inaugurated in the constituency.
At the same time, Shullai informed that an allocation of Rs 4.47 crores has been received for the construction of a road to connect the locality with Dhobighat, the construction of which will begin soon and expected to be completed within a year.
