The tragic suicide of a 10-year-old child in the village of Thangshalai, Mawryngkneng, has shocked the entire community, especially the family affected by this heartbreaking incident. In connection with this unusual event, the Village Secretary of Thangshalai, Bah Iohstar Kharumnuid, shared his thoughts, stating that this tragedy is a “devil’s attack” on people through the influence of mobile phones.
On Sunday, a young girl, just 10 years old and a Class IV student, ended her own life by hanging herself in her room. The incident occurred because her elder sister refused to give her the mobile phone. Bah Iohstar expressed that this incident should serve as a strong lesson for parents on how to guide and discipline their children, especially when it comes to mobile phone usage.
He further explained that this incident is a result of the devil’s schemes, bringing shockwaves not only to the family but to the entire world. For a 10-year-old to commit such an act is deeply troubling and points to the harmful effects of mobile phone addiction.
Bah Iohstar also noted that even adults must learn how to properly use mobile phones. He highlighted that many adults are also led astray, wasting time on their phones instead of engaging in meaningful conversations with their families and communities.
As a solution, Bah Iohstar suggested that instead of giving mobile phones to children, parents should provide them with the Bible or other moral teachings. For those who are not Christians, he advised that parents teach their children the right path to counter the temptations of modern technology.
