NPP Meghalaya president and Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong has said the MDA government would not be affected if UDP MLAs chose to join the BJP, as the NPP already has a majority on its own.
Asked about speculation that UDP MLAs could switch to the BJP, which, like the UDP, is a constituent of the ruling MDA coalition, Tynsong said the NPP did not want to interfere in the internal affairs of other political parties.
He said the NPP would instead remain focused on carrying out its work and completing its term in office.
