Shillong: UDP MLA from Mawsynram, Ollan Singh Suin, on Friday said that there would be no difficulty for the eight UDP MLAs to join the BJP if the party agrees to the demands they have put forward.
Suin made the statement while speaking to reporters after the UDP’s emergent meeting.
He said the position was clear: if the BJP agrees to their demands which includes recognition of the Khasi language, resumption of coal mining, relocation of the Harijan Colony from Them Iewmawlong and implementation of the MRSSA or ILP..the eight UDP MLAs would join the BJP.
Suin’s statement has sought to put to rest the speculation surrounding the political developments and the possibility of the eight UDP MLAs joining the BJP.
