Newborn Found Abandoned with Mouth Sealed by Stone and Fevikwik in Rajasthan

HEADLINES

Bhilwara: In a shocking case of cruelty, a newborn baby boy, barely 15–20 days old, was found abandoned in a forest near Mandalgarh in Bhilwara district, Rajasthan. The infant’s mouth had been sealed shut with a stone and Fevikwik adhesive to prevent him from crying.

The baby was discovered by a shepherd, who immediately alerted the authorities. Locals rushed to the scene and removed the stone blocking the infant’s mouth, after which he began to cry. He was rushed to Bijaulia Government Hospital and later referred to Bhilwara Higher Centre for advanced care. Doctors confirmed the infant bore adhesive marks on his lips and injuries on his left arm.

Dr. Mukesh Dhakad, paediatric specialist at Bijaulia Hospital, confirmed the child is around 15–20 days old and was in distress when brought in. The baby was given milk and stabilised before being transferred for better treatment.

Police have launched an investigation to trace those responsible. They are scrutinising hospital birth records in Mandalgarh and Bijaulia and questioning nearby villagers to identify the baby’s parents.

The case has sparked outrage among locals, who condemned the inhuman act and demanded strict action against the culprits.
