The students of NEHU demanded the resignation of Vice Chancellor Prof. Prabha Shukla Shankar during a meeting in his office on Tuesday.
In the discussion, students accused the VC of being unfit to lead and called for his immediate resignation. After a heated exchange, the students left the VC’s office and announced an indefinite closure of the entire university.
The students also demanded the removal of the Registrar and Deputy Registrar.
Following the tense confrontation with the VC, the Student Union proceeded to declare an indefinite strike.
