A group of 61 cadets from the NCC North Eastern Region (NER) Meghalaya took part in an adventure camp held at Shnongrim Village, East Jaiñtia Hills from March 17 to 23.
Organised under the aegis of Group HQ Shillong and hosted by 42 Meghalaya Battalion NCC, the camp focused on adventure-based learning and skill development.
As part of the programme, cadets explored the Krem Liat Prah Cave, one of Meghalaya’s largest limestone caves, gaining firsthand experience in cave exploration.
They also underwent rappelling training under the guidance of the Meghalaya Mountaineering Association, where they practiced descending steep rock faces and learned essential techniques such as knotting and equipment handling.
The camp aimed to build confidence, teamwork, and resilience among cadets while promoting outdoor adventure and practical skills.
