Shillong: The Cabinet Ministers of the Meghalaya Government in their meeting today decided to move forward and begin the process for the regularization of the employees in the Government who have so far been employed on an adhoc basis against sanctioned posts.
Informing of the decision of the Cabinet after the meeting concluded, the Chief Minister,Conrad Kongkal Sangma said that as is known by all, the Supreme Court in its ruling has stated that in the event of Government employees who have been appointed in the sanctioned posts without appearing any examination conducted by the District Selection Committee, the MPSC or any other examinations which are required to be conducted as is required, and in departments where employees have been appointed on an adhoc basis in the sanction posts, a one time provision be made to regularise them.
Following this, a section of the employees appointed on an adhoc basis were regularised, however a major section were also left out and not regularise, therefore on the basis of the Supreme Court ruling, a record of altogether 3635 employees appointed on an adhoc basis against sanctioned posts have been decided to be regularised and the regularisation of all these employees will be effective from the day the Government makes the announcement through a notification which will be prepared soon.
