Shillong : A 48-year-old man, identified as Michael Sangma, was allegedly assaulted by a group of people who forcibly entered his residence at Langja village.
Sangma, husband of Smelling Changdiar, sustained serious injuries in the attack and was subsequently taken to Civil Hospital, Nongstoiñ, for medical treatment.
According to a woman familiar with the incident, several people were involved in the alleged attack, while more than one person was assaulted. However, Sangma reportedly suffered the most serious injuries. His wife was also allegedly struck on one side of her ear.
The woman further alleged that the attackers later set Sangma’s car on fire.
The incident is believed to have occurred at around 8 pm on September 24, at Langja village.
Following the incident, police and other law enforcement authorities initiated an investigation to identify and apprehend those allegedly involved in the attack.
