NONGPOH, February 14: The local residents and a few land owners in Pilangkata village, Ri-Bhoi District are geared up to file an FIR against one Naga lady named Kaika Saprina for an alleged land grabbing in Pilangkata village.
Speaking with the people whose plots of land have been forcefully claimed by the lady, Lina Momin, one amongst the complainant said that she had borrowed ₹20,000 from Kaika for her daughter’s medical treatment and gave her the land deed as a form of surety for the loan, however when the Garo lady had wanted to return the borrowed money with interest, Kaika refused to return the land deeds which had been kept as surety.
Other complainants who are from the Naga community, R.Martha, K.Tunyi and R.V.Rio said that their plot of land which measures around tens of acres was bought in 2010 from the Dorbar Shnong of Pilangkata and with the imposition of the lockdown and in their inability to visit the site, were left shocked when they were informed that Kaika had built a house on their plot of land.
