SHILLONG, April 06: The Khasi Students’ Union(KSU), West Jaiñtia Hills District has demanded from the Minister incharge of the Education Department for the department to appoint teachers and employees in Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Jowai.
Members of the KSU today submitted a petition on this demand with the Minister of the Department of Education of the Meghalaya, Lahkmen Rymbui to have him hear the problems in Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Jowai.
The submission of the appeal with the Minister comes after the KSU West Jaiñtia Hills inspected this school on the 15th March and found the lack of infrastructure in this Government school.
The KSU pointed a few problems in this school which includes the lack of teachers, the absence of a science lab and library, lack of proper toilet facilities, the dangerous nature of one the buildings which has not been built properly and the inability of the Government to rebuild the wall of this school which had collapsed in 2020.
