Nongpoh, August 19: With the desire and expectation to provide a caring facility which provides a free of cost care and service to the elderly who no longer have anyone to take care of them or a place to stay, Kripa Foundation under the lead of Victoria Wahlang today inaugurated a care and residential facility for the elderly who no longer have any place to stay or anyone to take care of them which has been built in Umroi, and the senior citizen facility is known as Kripa Victoria Senior Citizen Home.
The Senior Citizen Home was inaugurated today by Father Joe Pareira, Kripa Foundation Founder Trustee, in the presence also of Smti.R.M Kurbah, Secretary of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Smti.E. Kharshandi, District Social Welfare Officer, Ri-Bhoi District among other senior members of society.
As expressed by Smti.Victoria Wahlang, the desire to help the elderly and senior citizens who no longer have anyone to take care of them has been alive in her since her childhood days. He also informed that in the past years she had a chance to visit one old age home in Singapore, and with this visit to this home of the elderly, she was encouraged further more to find ways and means to help the elderly or senior citizens who no longer have anyone to take care of them, until this day that she got the chance to open this home for the elderly or senior citizens.
She also said that this home for the senior citizens will serve the elderly and senior citizens who are truly without anyone to supervise and provide them proper care as well as a proper shelter and medical treatment free of cost and there are also bedrooms for which they have pay and the money from that will be used for provisions for the dorm rooms which are free of cost.
