Former Meghalaya Speaker and MLA, Martin M Danggo, has resigned from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as of today. In his resignation letter to the BJP Meghalaya President, Danggo cited personal reasons for his decision to leave the party.
Danggo had joined the BJP ahead of the 2023 MLA elections and contested from the Ranikor constituency, where he was defeated by Pius Marwein of the United Democratic Party (UDP).
