Pynthorumkhrah MLA, Alexander L Hek, clarified today that the recent collapse near BDW International School in Nongmensong involved a wall (“muri”) and not a bridge. The incident, which occurred on Sunday, led to the temporary closure of the road to vehicles.
Hek mentioned that repairs on the wall will take approximately 4-5 months. Engineers were immediately called in to assess the situation. He emphasized that the road has been reopened to traffic and the work is progressing smoothly, without any need to blame contractors or engineers at this stage.
