Shillong: East Shillong NPP MLA Ampareen Lyngdoh on Friday dismissed reports that NPP MLAs had travelled to Delhi to meet BJP leaders, calling them “fake news”.
“There are many things being reported in the media that are not true,” she said, referring to reports surrounding the NPP MLAs.
Ampareen said she continued to have faith in Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma and Deputy Chief Ministers Prestone Tynsong and Sniawbhalang Dhar, asserting that the NPP remained united.
On the eight UDP MLAs who joined the BJP, she said their decision was their own and not her responsibility to scrutinise.
“My responsibility is to look after my constituency,” Ampareen said, adding that she did not know what prompted the MLAs to leave the UDP.
