SHILLONG, January 17: The MLA of North Shillong, Adelbert Nongrum has expressed his gratitude to the Government which has taken up for discussion his demand to increase the upper age limit for applicants in government jobs but he also stated that he shall believe it when he sees it being implemented.
The Cabinet Ministers discussed the matter with regards to increasing the upper age limit for applicants of government jobs, by increasing it to 37 years from 32 years which is currently the norm, but the decision on the matter is yet to be taken as other aspects are also required to be taken into account as well.
It may be pointed that the MLA of North Shillong has fought to demand from the Government to increase the upper age limit for applicants in government jobs to 37 years and it is also one of the points of demand that he has taken up for fulfillment by carrying out a sit-in demonstration which started today.
Speaking with media persons, he said that it is necessary to express the demand to the Government because time itself demands for it to be implemented and added that today, only a thought and discussion on it was carried out by the Cabinet Ministers and he shall wait for the time when the demand becomes a reality and is implemented.
