Today, the residents of Hima Sohra lodged a formal complaint with the Assistant Commissioner of Transport regarding overloaded trucks carrying limestone in the Majai area. The trucks, they claim, are bypassing mandatory checks at weigh bridges in Tharia and Lailad, traveling with excess loads without being weighed.
Speaking to the media, Wellbourn Bynnud, a community representative, expressed concerns that the overloaded trucks are causing significant damage to the local roads. He further questioned how these trucks are allowed to operate without being checked, suggesting possible negligence or collusion with those responsible for monitoring.
Bynnud stated that if the Transport Department does not take action to address the issue, the residents will be forced to take further steps. The ongoing issue of road damage in Majai due to these trucks remains a serious concern for the community.
