Shillong: As per notification put up to setup an “Expert Committee” to review the Reservation Policy the Govt has decided that Chief Secretary and one member from the Law Department and one from the Personnel Department – A three member committee has been put-up as a “Search Committee” to look for experts who will be able to be part of the Expert Committee.
The government has recommended that this committee should be a five member committee and should have experts from different fields as mentioned in the notification, said Chief Minister.
Responding to a inquiry about the time frame to setup the Expert Committee, CM said he have directed the Search Committee to submit the report as soon as they can.
“The Chief Secretary headed committee will start working immediately and hopefully they will get the names to the government at the earliest”, he added.
On a demands to appoint members of the Expert Committee from the State, CM said the Search Committee will look into the matter.
