Deputy Chief Minister in-charge of Transport Sniawbahalang Dhar has said that directions have been issued to operators of the Bus Jong Ngi service to ensure proper maintenance of the buses and maintain transparency in their operations.
The minister informed that the government will introduce 15 additional buses next month to expand coverage to more routes.
The move comes amid concerns that poor maintenance could lead to challenges similar to those faced by the erstwhile SPTS bus service.
The modern Bus Jong Ngi fleet was launched recently as part of efforts to strengthen public transportation in the state.
