SHILLONG, February 24: Following the intervention of the Meghalaya High Court on illegal coal mining, the State Government will prepare a report to be submitted as a response to the High Court within the stipulated time.
The Chief Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Smti. R.V Suchiang said that the Court has given 7 days time and the Government will submit the report within the given time.
The High Court of Meghalaya has directed the Chief Secretary and the Director General of Police to conduct an inspection at the sites where the alleged illegal coal mining is taking place as per the FIR filed by the Nokma of Nengchigen in which she has alleged that illegal coal mining is taking place in the clan property in West Khasi Hills District.
