Shillong: Wandonbok Jyrwa,Chairman of the Meghalaya Joint Action Committee of Commercial Vehicle( MJACCV) has come forward to urge and request all commercial vehicles drivers to board students appearing in different exams first so that they can reach their examination centres on time.
The appeal from Jyrwa was made while speaking with media persons yesterday where he also warned all taxi drivers to not discard in taking in student passengers, especially in these days when different examinations are about to start.
Jyrwa has also made an appeal to the Government that it is time to provide different commercial buses for different schools which as per the petition already sent by the association from time to time in order to alleviate the problem of traffic jams during school timings.
With regards to vehicles not being allowed to ply through Them Ïew Mawlong, Jyrwa said that the vehicles are plying through the same point in Ïew Mawlong irrespective of whether they have to embark or disembark, which in actuality, this route should be a one-way route.
