Shillong, 25th September 2024: In a major breakthrough, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of East Khasi Hills, in collaboration with Lumdiengjri Police Station and Jhalupara Outpost, conducted a joint operation that led to the arrest of a drug peddler in Jhalupara, Shillong.
The operation, based on credible intelligence, resulted in the apprehension of Smti. Aisha Khatoon (alias Pahari), 50, a resident of Lower Paltan Bazar. During the raid, police recovered 73 vials of suspected heroin, weighing 9.72 grams, along with 4 mobile phones and ₹27,410 in cash.
A criminal case has been registered under Lumdiengjri PS Case No. 103/24 u/s 21(b)/27A of the NDPS Act. Further investigations are ongoing to uncover more details surrounding the drug trafficking network.
