Dr. OS Jyrwa has filed his nomination papers on Monday at the Returning Officer at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Shillong.

Jyrwa, will be contesting as an independent candidate from the Sohryngkham constituency.

The process for filing nomination papers for the upcoming MDC elections to the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), scheduled for February 21, has commenced from today.

Speaking to the media after filing his nomination, Dr. Jyrwa expressed that his decision to contest was motivated by strong encouragement from the people of his constituency. He assured his commitment to working for their welfare and addressing their concerns.

Dr. Jyrwa had previously contested the 2023 MLA elections from Mawryngkneng under the UDP ticket, where he secured the second position.
