Dr. Ampareen Lyngdoh Visits Meghalaya Nurses Working in Japan

Shillong: Meghalaya’s Health Minister, Dr. Ampareen Lyngdoh, visited nurses from the state currently working in Japan to check on their well-being and work conditions. On Monday, she visited the Tsurumaki Onsen Hospital, where she met with three nurses from Meghalaya: Shisha Lapyntngen Lartang, Launda B Sangma, and Banniewkor Mukhim, who secured their jobs through the state government and Navic Corporation.

Accompanied by the Health Secretary, Ram Kumar, Dr. Ampareen also visited the ALIVE Elderly Care Centre to discuss the potential recruitment of an additional 10 nurses from Meghalaya. Representatives from this care center will attend a Job Fair in Shillong on September 17 to facilitate further hiring.

In addition to her visits, Dr. Ampareen plans to visit Kurihara-Shi Miyagi Prefecture on September 5 to learn about shitake mushroom farming at Mizudori Farm, following an MoU signed in 2019 between Yats Corporation Pvt Ltd, the Agriculture Department, and the Hill Farmers Union to promote shitake farming in Meghalaya.
