Shillong, April 29, 2025: All India Congress Committee (AICC) leader in charge of Meghalaya, Mathew Anthony, has launched a scathing attack on the MDA-2 government led by the National People’s Party (NPP), alleging rampant corruption that begins from the Chief Minister’s office and trickles down to lower levels of governance.
Speaking at a press conference in Shillong today, Anthony claimed that the MDA-2 government is deeply mired in corruption, with Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma allegedly turning a blind eye because “the rot begins in his own chamber.”
He revealed that the Political Executive Committee of the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) met earlier in the day to deliberate on various instances of corruption under the current administration, including irregularities in welfare schemes, the 100-day employment guarantee scheme, and other developmental programs.
Anthony affirmed that the Congress party will investigate these matters thoroughly and expose the truth to the people of Meghalaya.
