SHILLONG,April 01: The Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad Kongkal Sangma said that the peace talk of the Government with the Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) will be through the interlocutors for this task has been assigned to be carried forward by the interlocutors of both sides.
The State Government today on the 1st of April called a meeting of senior officers to talk on the law and order situation of the State and in this meeting, they also spoke on the forward movement of the peace talk with the HNLC.
In this meeting called by the Chief Minister, Conrad Kongkal Sangma were also present the Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong, the Home Minister, Lahkmen Rymbui, senior officers including the Chief Secretary, R.V Suchiang, Special DGP, I.Nongrang and the interlocutor appointed by the Government for the peace talk with the Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC), Peter Dkhar.
On being queried, the Chief Minister refused to say anything related to the meeting as the process has just begun and the Government does not want for it to be affected, but he said that what the public needs to know is that the Government has given the task the due importance it requires.
