Alem Khongwir delivered a stunning second-half hat-trick to give Mylliem their first-ever Shillong Premier League victory, defeating fellow newcomers Malki 3-0 in the 15th match of the SPL 2025 at SSA Stadium, Polo, today.
After a quiet first half, Alem struck in the 55th, 64th and 70th minutes, completing a perfect hat-trick — left foot, header, and right foot. It was also the first treble of the SPL 2025 season.
Both Mylliem and Malki were promoted from the First Division 2024, with Malki having beaten Mylliem 2-1 last season. But this time, Mylliem’s revamped squad outpaced their rivals. The trio of Remark Kharmalki, Shaibor Nongrum and Alem proved too fast and clinical for Malki’s defense.
The win lifts Mylliem to fifth place with 4 points, level with Langsning and Rangdajied United, while Malki slip into the relegation zone, sitting bottom on goal difference despite being tied on points with Laitkor and Sawmer.
Tomorrow, Rangdajied United will face table-toppers Nangkiew Irat at 4:30pm in the opening clash of Round 4.
