Shillong: The National People’s Party (NPP) candidate of Sohiong constituency who is also the former cabinet minister, Samlin Malngiang has claimed that around 8 elected representatives of the United Democratic Party (UDP) will soon merge with the NPP in a public gathering at Mawlaiteng on Saturday.
However, the leader of the UDP, Allantry F Dkhar has denied and term the allegations as baseless and untrue.
The claimed from the NPP candidate of Sohiong came on the date the two MLAs of the People Democratic Party (PDF) officially merged with the NPP. He also stated that many of the UDP leaders in Sohiong constituency have come to association themselves with the NPP ahead the Sohiong Polls.
The former cabinet minister in his speech have reminded the people of Sohiong that during his 5 years of tenure as an MLA, he has brought about ₹130 crores of developmental projects in the constituency and it was his initiative that the road projects from Lawmei to Umglyngka of about ₹22 crores along with ₹77crores bridge connecting the two has been constructed.
